COOKE CITY SNOWMOBILE TRAILS

OUR FIRST 3 RECOMMENDATIONS IF YOU’RE NEW TO THE AREA.

Daisy Pass Snowmobile Route

Daisy Pass is the quickest ride of our first 3 trail recommendations. It's groomed the whole way up and leads to some incredible views.

ROUND LAKE SNOWMOBILE ROUTE

Cooke to Round Lake is our 2nd recommendation, with a longer ride and access to some big open lake beds for hooning around. There’s even a warming hut here to get your warmed back up for when it’s cold out or just as a spot to eat some lunch.

Lulu Pass Snowmobile Route

Lulu Pass is our third recommendation for once you’re more comfortable on your sled. The groomed trail ends before the last hill climb to the top of the pass. It’s a wide open one that you’ll be able to make up as long as you give er some gas. The views are worth it, we promise.

SNOWMOBILE PERMIT INFORMATION

APPROACHING COOKE CITY FROM WEST HWY 212

(YELLOWSTONE NATL PARK)

*MONTANA PERMIT AND YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK FEES*

If you're traveling through Yellowstone, you'll just need to cover any fees associated with entering the National Park (We recommend a annual pass). Upon arriving in Cooke City, you'll just need a Montana Snowmobile permit to recreate in the area.

APPROACHING COOKE CITY FROM EAST HWY 212

(RED LODGE, MT OR CODY, WY):

*MONTANA & WYOMING SNOWMOBILE PERMIT REQUIRED*

Due to "The Plug" of Highway 212 during Winter, Cooke City is only accessible by snow machine from Dec 1st until Spring (Date is Weather Dependent). "The Plug" is a 9 mile stretch of groomed trail from Pilot Creek, WY to Cooke City, MT. With "The Plug" spanning across state borders, all users are required to carry both a Wyoming & Montana snowmobile permit to access this terrain.
